Claudia Sámano-Losada

Owner/Artistic Director/Instructor

Claudia is a movement educator with a degree in Dance Movement Therapy. Certified Early Childhood Education Practitioner, Dance,Yoga and Fitness Certified Instructor. She is also a Children and Senior Fitness Specialist, Rhythm Works Integrative Dance certified instructor and certified in Essentials of Massage and bodywork. Certified Life Coach. Choreographer since 1997. Born and raised in Mexico city. She has studied in Mexico, the United Kingdom and the U.S. Teaching Dance and Movement since 1994. Her 28 years of experience as Instructor, her personal experience with special needs population and her Spanish native language heritage, have led her passion to create, teach, coach and share with the people around her, -all ages- all needs- a new way to learn and understand their own abilities through movement. She teaches Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical,  Jazz, Movement therapy, Yoga, Dance for special needs, Dance workouts, and bilingual programs. She has participated and directed numerous recitals, events and performances since 1994. In 2001, she was chosen to play a role as a Belly dancer in the Metro- Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) film called "Original Sin", starring Angelina Julie & Antonio Banderas. She has volunteered at the Oak Harbor WA School District, teaching movement, Spanish and bilingual programs since 2009. She has  volunteered/worked at the City's Whidbey Playhouse collaborating and co-choreographing musical theater local productions: "Spamalot" 2015, "Pirates of Penzance" 2015, "South Pacific" 2016, "Beehive" 2017, and "The Producers" 2018. She offers different programs through the year to the Skagit region public libraries (Sno-Isle Libraries) and dance/fitness programs at Retirement Centers in the community. She is a member of the local PRIME TIME Humanities Washington team in Oak Harbor SnoIsle library, working in conjunction with OH School District in a literacy family program.

She volunteers and collaborates with the non-profit organizations: Positively linked, YOUTHnited, Whidbey Has Talent (WHT), NorthWest Language Academy Cultural Center (NWLACC) and PAMI (Spanish Speaking families with special need children) in Oak Harbor and Whidbey Island Wa.

She is the founder of BLIMP® -Bilingual Integrated Learning Movement-Program based in cultural-movement-music education. Founder of "Cross-cultural World in motion" program offering support and information about language/multiculturalism/cultural intelligence to families and students. And Integrative Practices, where she offers support and coaching to groups and individuals through movement, meditation, and instrospection. On-line and in seat.

She served as Oak Harbor's SnoIsle Library Board Member from 2017-2019 and was a member of Soroptimist International in Oak Harbor.

Miguel Losada

Miguel, Navy Veteran with an Associates of Science degree in Electronics and a Bachelors degree in International Business Management. He is a an Entrepreneur by nature. An enthusiast in Astronomy, History, Geography, Languages, Arts, Culture, Soccer and Education. He has five yrs of  experience as a children soccer coach, and 28 years of business experience and administration. His passion and perseverance have taken him to explore countries and cultures through his entire life. Miguel is a former owner of an Iberian bistro and importer in WA state. He is the Administrative & Co-onwer of IMC.

Amanda Elam

Company Director. Lyrical, Jazz, Acro-Dance, Hip-Hop, Contemporary Dance, PBT.

Amanda Elam is a dance educator with over 10 years of experience. Her knowledge spans from dancing professionally at Walt Disney World to choreographing award winning routines both nationally and internationally. Her mission as a dance instructor is to educate her students in the art and movement of dance. There is no right or wrong way of learning or expressing yourself and she strives to make all her students feel and think that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to. She believes in teaching the foundations and working skills so that they have the tools they need to achieve the goals they want at their own pace. She is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique, Acro-Dance, and now Kinesiology all to help her and her students practice their craft in the safest, most efficient way possible.

She loves all things outdoors. She loves going hiking and camping with her two dogs, two little girls, and her husband. She refurbishes furniture, sews, and does wood work in her spare time and she owns her own photography business. 
She truly believes that each person makes their own luck and meditation is the best medicine!

Mary Kate Corcordan

Acro-Dance, Contortionism, Jazz, Contemporary, Spanish, Competitive dance.

Mary Kate began training in dance and acrobatics at the age of six and began instructing at the age of 15.Her training focused heavily on acrobatics and contortion with foundations in ballet, jazz, and contemporary, as well as time spent in competitive circuits.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language with a concentration in Hispanic Cultural Studies and a related area certificate in Portuguese Language from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A Pennsylvania native, Mary Kate joined the Naval Service in 2017 where she spent several years living abroad in Japan. She moved to Whidbey Island in November 2021 and joined In Motion Company to share her love of acrobatics and dance with the community.
She believes that movement creates a deep connection between mind and body, and is passionate about providing a safe and welcoming environment that allows everyone the freedom to move!


Megan Moore


Megan graduated from Cornish College of the arts with my BFA in dance in 2019. Before attending college she was Cecchetti trained, and traveled nationally, and internationally for dance competitions through my high school arts program. She has been teaching ages 3-16 for the past 6 years, and unofficially emphasized in choreography in my college years.  Her passion and expertise lies in choreography and creative direction.
She teaches ballet, contemporary, jazz, and creative movement. She is also currently  developing unique curriculum for creativity centered adult movement classes. She has a passion for finding the natural gifts of each individual student, and guiding them to embrace their unique artistry, no matter their age or experience level. 
She is a young entrepenuer too. Her business is called SALTSHAKE, a virtual art studio based in healing through creative expression.

Colleen Monaghan

Ballroom, Salsa, Watlz, Country

Colleen holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s
degree in teaching K-8. She has worked with children from infants through high school, mostly children with special needs,
primarily children with autism. Colleen has been involved in sports most of her adult life. She has been a competitive fencer and judo player. She has coached both children and adults in both fields. Colleen started ballroom dancing in her 50’s to keep active. At the age of 59 she began training
for her national teacher certifications under Nathan Simler, a national competitor and
competitive coach. She received High Honors in her Smooth exams(Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and
Viennese Waltz) and Honors in her Rhythm exams(Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Rumba Bolero
and Mambo). She continues to train with him for her next certification level exams. Until the
pandemic, Colleen also trained with Alexandra Hawkins, a renowned national and international
competitor and trainer.
After completing her certification exams, she started her own dance studio then put it on hold to
work for Bellingham Dance Company with Mary Evans so she could continue training as an
instructor and business owner in a studio environment. She became head instructor and worked
with other instructors to help solidify and work towards their dance goals. Colleen also trained
competitive couple to compete at Seattle Star Ball.
Colleen’s philosophy is anyone can learn to dance. She enjoys welcoming and teaching new
students as well as experienced and competitive dancers and those who wish to become
instructors. Colleen would like to start a children’s and youth program to introduce ballroom
dancing an alternative way to stay active.
She believes technique is the foundation for dancing but introduces it gradually. Her goal is for
you to enjoy dancing, whether it be at the social, competitive or instructor training level. Her
private lessons are focused on your individual goals. Group lessons are a cost-effective way to
discover if ballroom dancing is for you. Both private and group lessons are taught in a fun, safe
and welcoming environment

Daunne Bacon Zinger

Tap & Jazz

Daunne hold a Degree in Dance from the University of Washington.  Since that time she has taught a variety of dance classes on Whidbey Island, including Jazz, Tap, Creative Movement and Choreography Workshops.  

She teaches several types of water aerobics classes and various Zumba classes on Whidbey Island and Seattle. She has been a choreographer for Whidbey Playhouse in Oak Harbor since 2008 and was recently selected to choreograph for Whidbey Island Center for the Arts in Langley. Daunne owns a Bachelor of Arts Degree with minors in Dance and Music – University of Northern Colorado 1976 – Dance specialties :Luigi jazz, Graham Modern, Contact Improvisation and Choreography. She played Chorus dancer and soloist for Black Arts West, dance company of Black Arts West Theatre Group. Seattle, WA 1974-75. She was a Jazz instructor for Experimental College, University of Washington 1976-78. She owns a Master’s Degree in Public Administration – University of Washington 1981.

 Participated in: Summer Integrated Dance Intensives – AXIS Dance Company, Oakland CA  2006, 2007.

Qualified to teach Integrated dance for Physically Challenged/Special Needs dancers. Aquatics Exercise Association Certification since 2010.

Tessa Kamo

Tessa Karno is a belly dance enthusiast and costume maker, Tessa Karno started dancing late in life while living in the beautiful bohemian hippie enclave of Topanga Canyon, CA. After falling in love with the beauty and form of belly dance, Tessa studied under several prominent teachers in Los Angeles and Las Vegas while designing costumes, before evolving to help choreograph many of the routines performed in local festivals and events. 
In 2015, Tessa became involved with Shimmy Mob and, after moving to Whidbey Island in 2017, she contacted Shimmy Mob headquarters, registered Whidbey Island under “Langley, WA, USA” and took on the role of team leader, teaching participants the dances organizing the first Shimmy Mob on Whidbey Island.

Shimmy Mobis an international belly dance flash mob held annually in support of victims of abuse worldwide. Going into its 10thanniversary year, Shimmy Mob is held annually on the second Saturday in May, World Bellydance Day. Teams of belly dancers around the world dance the same choreography to the same music to raise awareness and funds for local women’s shelters.
Tessa Karno, mother of two sons,  and grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters, currently lives in Clinton with her husband and rescued dog.
